How to use Testosterone gel

Testosterone gel is one of the easiest treatments to use. It is designed to be applied by you - without the need for visits to a doctor or hospital. The gel comes in convenient sachets which you rub on once daily (preferably in the morning after a shower or bath). Simply wash your hands in soapy water afterwards and get dressed.

Some useful pointers:

  • apply to arms, shoulder or abdomen (NOT to the genital area as it may irritate the sensitive genital skin)
  • make sure your skin is dry and clean before applying
  • no need to rub it in - it will penetrate the skin rapidly by itself and takes only a few minutes to dry
  • let it dry before getting dressed
  • you may shower as soon as one hour after application of Testosterone gel, but it is better to wait six hours in order to allow the gel to be fully absorbed by the skin
  • avoid skin-to-skin contact with others until application has dried (a few minutes)
  • anyone who comes into contact with your skin when these precautions have not been taken should wash the affected area with soap and water as soon as possible
